A Bare Mantel, Sorted in a Minute

Round eucalyptus leaves on a soft, bendable stem, with a string of warm white micro LEDs wound through them. Lay it along the mantel, let one end trail over the side, switch it on, and the corner of the room that looked empty an hour ago looks finished.

No Socket, No Cable Down the Wall

The lights run on three AA batteries in a small box that tucks out of sight behind a vase or a frame. That means it can go where a lamp cannot: over a mirror, along a shelf, down the middle of the dining table. A built-in timer keeps it on for six hours and off for eighteen, so it comes on by itself at the same time every evening.

Looks Good Switched Off Too

By day it is simply a full, natural-looking garland of grey-green leaves. In the evening the warm glow between the leaves takes over. It is soft light for atmosphere, the kind you leave on instead of the ceiling light.

Mantel, Table, Stairs, Christmas

One garland covers a standard mantel or a sideboard. Two, end to end, run the length of a dining table or wind up a stair rail. It works all year, and in December it only needs a few baubles and a candle to become the Christmas centrepiece.
