A Whole Christmas Scene on One Hook

At the top, a decorated tree: a gold star, red poinsettias, frosted greenery, pine cones and a wide gold bow. From it, strands of warm white lights fall like a cascade, with white snowflakes and clear crystal-look drops hung between them. At the bottom, a snowy village with a church steeple, cottages, winter trees and Santa’s sleigh passing over the rooftops.

The Wall You Walk Past Every Day

It is made for the stretch of wall that never gets decorated: the hallway by the door, the landing, the space beside the sofa. It takes nothing off the mantel or the table, hangs from a single loop on a nail or a hook, and reads from across the room. At about 95 cm tall it fills a wall panel without crowding it.

Pretty by Day, Glowing at Night

With the lights off it is a layered red, green, white and gold decoration. With the lights on in the evening the cascade takes over and the whole wall warms up. A six-hour timer switches it on at the same time each evening and off again at bedtime.

Nothing to Plug In

The battery box sits behind the tree at the top, hidden by the greenery, and takes three AA batteries. There is no cable to run down the wall and no socket needed, so it goes anywhere, including a stair landing or a porch out of the rain.
