A pair of tiny knitted booties in soft watercolour, the words My First Christmas, the year and the baby's name, printed on a glazed white ceramic ornament. It goes on the tree this year, and every year after it is the one they look for first.
A heart, a plain circle, a five-point star, a scalloped circle, a snowflake and an eight-point star, all about 8 cm across with a hole and a jute cord for hanging. Choose one, or one for each grandparent's tree.
The design is printed under a clear glaze on both the shape and the lettering, so it does not scratch or fade. The ceramic has a little weight to it and a smooth, glossy face.
