Light That Looks Like It Is Pouring

The figure stands at the top of a stake. Below it, strands of warm white micro LEDs hang down to the ground with little stars, snowflakes and wrapped gifts threaded through them. The LEDs light in sequence from the top down, so the whole thing looks like light is flowing out of the snowman’s orb, out of Santa’s sack, or down from the flying sleigh onto the lawn.

Three Characters

The Snowman Fountain holds a glowing orb in both hands, with a top hat and a red scarf. Santa’s Magic Pour has Santa leaning forward tipping gifts out of his sack. Santa’s Flying Sleigh puts the sleigh and reindeer at the top with presents tumbling out below. All three are about 70 cm tall including the stake.

Solar, So It Looks After Itself

A small solar panel on its own spike charges a battery during the day. At dusk the light sensor switches the figure on, it runs for six to eight hours, and it switches off again. No cable across the lawn, no outdoor socket, nothing to remember. The panel can sit up to a metre away from the figure in the sunniest spot.

By the Path or at the Door

Push the stake into a border, a planter or the lawn beside the front path, so people see it as they arrive. Two or three along a path, one of each character, make a scene. The figure, lights and panel are IP65, so rain, frost and snow are fine all winter.
