Put the disc in a bird bath, a glazed bowl or the corner of a pond. When the sun reaches the panel, the pump starts on its own and a fine jet of water rises from the centre. There is no cable to bury, no switch and no battery to change. It works with the water and the bowl you already have.

The Birds Notice First

Moving water catches the light and makes a soft sound, and garden birds tend to find it faster than a still bath. Set it where you can see it from the kitchen window or the bench, and the bowl becomes the busiest spot in the garden. It suits a small balcony just as well as a lawn.

Six Nozzles, Six Sprays

Swap the head to change the pattern: a single tall jet, a wide fine shower, or a low gentle bubble for a shallow bowl. In full sun the spray reaches roughly 30 to 50 cm depending on the nozzle. In a small bowl choose one of the lower heads so the water falls back in rather than over the edge.

Honest About the Sun

The pump runs straight from the panel, so it needs direct sunlight. When a cloud passes or the bowl falls into shade it slows or pauses, and it starts again by itself when the sun returns. Keep the water topped up, rinse the little filter now and then, and bring the fountain indoors before the first frost.
